Running-cost calculator
What will a drying cycle cost?
A transparent electricity estimate. Start with measured average power for the strongest comparison.
ESTIMATED ELECTRICITY / CYCLE
$0.150.600 kWh per cycle
MONTHLY / YEARLY
$1.80 / $21.60At the schedule entered. Equipment, storage supplies and replacement parts are excluded.
How the estimate works
Energy in kWh = average watts × hours ÷ 1,000. Multiply energy by your electricity price per kWh for the cycle cost. Multiply by cycles per month for the monthly total; the annual figure assumes twelve identical months.
Use average power, not just rated power
A heater rating does not show how long the heater runs. If you have a suitable energy meter, record the energy for a complete cycle and its duration. Divide kWh by hours and multiply by 1,000 to calculate average watts. Without measurement, label your input as an assumption.
Compare the same job
Keep the material, load and intended process consistent. A cheap but incomplete cycle is not equivalent to a completed process. The calculator estimates electricity; it does not decide whether a drying cycle is adequate.
